tomodachi life: living the dream

last played: 05/03/26

ive sunk 30 hours into this at the time of writing (may 3rd) so i think i can justify writing about it now. ive been waiting for a tomodachi life sequel for YEARS, so you could only imagine my excitement when this was announced and subsequently released. i love it a LOT so far. the mii customization is pretty much perfect in my opinion, it gives you the option to add more details while still restricting it enough to be mii-like, toning it down from the miitopia mii maker. i love the new style of gameplay where your miis can sort of just be out and about all the time, and oyu can actually see them throughout the island. not to mention, the island customization is also great. a couple things do fall flat, though- the most obvious being the concert hall. seriously, where is it... quirky questions is also nowhere to be seen, along with a couple other little things like bath cutscenes or even skateboards. im not at that level yet, but i do hear once your island gets to level 100 theres not really much else to unlock, which does suck. i have hopes nintendo will come out with more content for the game, but for now im enjoying it a lot.

overwatch

last played: 03/27/26

overwatch is probably the most consistent game ive played over the past year. i love it! it pisses me off so bad when i play but i keep coming back like crack but i will never stop atp. my mains atm are ashe, ana, and symmetra, and i love them all. if you enjoy fps games i think overwatch is a really good game to go with, especially nowadays since the team actually started caring about the game LOL.

chicago

last watched: february 2026 i think?

finally rewatched chicago with my partner, who was watching it for the first time. i truly believe chicago is an example of a PERFECT musical-to-movie adaptation. the usage of a burlesque-cabaret stage performance for the songs to showcase the mental state of the characters is genius, and not to mention the songs are just really fucking good in general. i honestly do think that the movie here is also greatly improved by bob fosse's choreography, rest in peace king. chicago is good go watch it. even if you dont like musicals go watch it.

beastars

last watched: 03/10/26

now that the beastars anime is FINALLY done i can mark this one off my list. full disclosure i have not read the manga, but i thought the anime was awesome. i think that it does the whole predator/prey metaphor thing WAYY better than movies like zootopia. not to mention the art direction during the whole show is INSANE, i dont think ive ever watched another show that looks like beastars. i do think that the end felt very rushed, though. it felt like a lot of things were skipped over or done really quickly because of how little episodes there were left, but other than that i really enjoyed the anime.

chromakopia

last listened: 01/13/26

2 days before this album came out, something very very bad happened to me, and on the morning it released, i had no choice but to get up and take myself to school. i listened to this album in full during my long commute and i think it healed something in me. chromakopia is really good. i feel like the world has moved on from it so fast. when i first listened to it, my favourite song changed around a whole lot, but afterwards i landed on "like him" and its been my favourite ever since. hearing it live was an otherwordly experience.
